The building occupied by the school of arts was built in 1919 as a joint venture with the Returned Soldiers League and Country Women’s Association. This took advantage of the tax deduction available for donations to soldiers’ memorials. The original state school, purchased by the CWA formed the rear section of the new building. The CWA meeting room was located on the right of the entrance, and the school of arts library on the left. The building is now displayed in the Pioneer Village at Gatton.
