Institute, Semaphore Road, Semaphore, South Australia, 1884.
The building served as the Institute for a few years before it became the Town Hall, accommodating the Semaphore Council. After the amalgamation of the Semaphore and Port Adelaide Councils in 1900 it was used as a public hall. It served as a picture theatre from 1929 to 1960; a lavish refurbishment took place in 1952. The building was converted to a municipal library and has enjoyed a restoration of the façade.
